This Sweet Potato Gnocchi recipe is easy and delicious. It’s a great breakfast alternative, you’ll love it!
When I first went Paleo, I went a bit heavy on the nuts. I was eating trail mix, making “Paleo” approved desserts with assorted raw nuts, I was eating cashew “cheese”, nut butters, and I was drinking almond milk as my “milk” substitute. Then I felt something wasn’t right, instead of losing weight, I was gaining weight, plus my hair was falling out, I was cold all the time, I was experiencing muscle weakness and I was fatigued in the morning and totally drained by 7pm.
It’s an anomaly being Vegetarian and Paleo at the same time. Or is it? There are people all over the world who recognize the importance of animal preservation. Animals globally are being saved by loving Vegetarians and Vegans every day. While the animals are thanking you for their salvage, are you sacrificing your own health […]
Perfect Paleo Chocolate Chip Cookies… where do I even begin?! Any paleo foodie, whether you’ve been of the paleo persuasion for a few months or several years, has sought out some sort of chocolate chip cookie recipe. Like most people, you’ve probably tried a handful of paleo cookie recipes yourself… or maybe you haven’t! (I simply can’t imagine that scenario. A cookie-less life is no life in my eyes.) Myself? I’ve tried at least 100 paleo cookie variations.
Can white rice be Paleo? What’s the first answer that pops into your head? No, of course not. When we describe the essence of what Paleolithic eating is we should automatically think avoid all grains, sugar, legumes, dairy, etc. But what is rice? Is rice a grain or a starch? Before I answer that let’s explore the history of rice, different types of rice, and why it may be able to fit into a Paleo diet.
When we got married 11 years ago, we received a cookware set that was coated in Teflon. I was all kinds of excited because I assumed that was required in order to not have food stick to the pan. After a few years, I noticed more and more flakes of black in our food. I […]
If you’re like me, you love receiving snail mail. I’m not talking about bills, I’m talking about the fun stuff: letters, magazines, catalogs, announcements, and packages. So imagine my excitement when I received a box full of colorful snacks from Well Food Company this week! It was like an early paleo Christmas. Before I get […]
I remember the first time I ever cooked a turkey. Luckily, it isn’t one of those first-timer experiences that involves a fire truck or inedible food. It was pretty uneventful, for the most part. And the turkey was edible and appeared to be enjoyed by all, whether they were lying or not does not matter […]
Chocolate cups filled with almond butter (or sunbutter) and paleo marshmallows. Free from allergens, this is a treat the whole family can (and will) enjoy!
Guess what’s fast approaching? The dreaded sugar- and gluten-filled holidays. I had not yet made the paleo transition last holiday season, so this will be my very first Thanksgiving and Christmas where I will forego cooking and baking the traditional meals of my past. BUT, I love my traditional foods, you know? I am pretty […]
Snow is in the forecast, the air is cooler, and it’s still dark at 7:00am. That means it’s time for slowcooker meals that fill the house with delicious aromas and give you that warm, cozy feeling. Unless you have a fireplace, in which case I would suggest using that too, because fireplaces are awesome. I […]
I don’t even know where the last 2 weeks have gone. Life has been a complete and total blur lately. Between recovering from an impromptu mini-vacation, undergoing a hair transformation (from black to light brown!), my eldest turning 8 (going on 28, geez), and spending nearly a full day in a dental chair with my […]
So, you know how I was just talking about how much I love Fall and it’s the bestest of all the seasons? Well, Rob decided we needed to go take advantage of the cooler temps and head up to the mountains for the weekend to check out the beautiful Aspens changing to their golden hues. […]
Say that 5 times fast. I feel like I’m Pippi from Mr. Popper’s Penguins: “This is possibly the perfect prime provision” (translation: “this is the best breakfast”). Yeah, I searched the thesaurus for a while to get those words. I’m only a little embarrassed to admit that. So anyway, I recently ran out of eggs, […]
