Giveaway is now closed
Congratulations to our winner, Mary Burney!
Since switching to paleo, I have really come to understand the importance of the right spices, extracts, and seasonings in my food. Without them, the world can be a bland and boring place. While I have my standard go-to seasonings, I have been trying to branch out and try some new things.
For quite some time now, I have walked by this adorable little spice shop downtown. Almost every time I pass by, it’s closed because I’m usually down there at night for dinner. And on the off chance I’m there during open hours, I don’t want to bring the kids in with me and risk them destroying the place. So one evening, we happened to be down there without the kids and popped in to check it out. All the spices have “taster” jars to both smell and taste them. I was so impressed with everything there and grabbed just a few things to try out.
Fast forward a couple weeks and I may or may not have gone back and dropped too much money on more spices, but it was so worth it. So far, my favorite is called the Red Rocks Hickory Smoke Seasoning. It has a deliciously smokey BBQ taste and has made an appearance in 3 different meals in our home in the past week, including chicken thighs (just used it as a dry rub), added a teaspoon to the 50/50 Bacon Bison Burgers, and a BBQ sauce (recipe coming soon) with inspiration from a recipe at the Savory Spice Shop. I’m actually already on my second bottle. Yeah, it’s that good.
So since I know the importance of good spices in the kitchen, and how drastically they can improve the taste of our food, I want to share some of the wealth with a quickie giveaway for you.

The Savory Spice Shop has locations in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Oregon, Tennessee, and Texas. If you’re lucky enough to live near one, or have had the privilege to use their spices or extracts, you know why I’m loving on them right now.
So how would you like a chance to win your own set of spices from Savory Spice Shop? Yeah, I thought you would. Included in this giveaway is one of each of the following:
- Pure Mexican Vanilla Extract
- Sweet Smoked Spanish Paprika
- California Basil
- Fine Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt
- Red Rocks Hickory Smoke Seasoning
- Pumpkin Pie Spice
I chose these particular spices (and extract) because they are staples in our home (I cannot get enough of the Alderwood Smoked Sea Salt!). Hopefully these spices will help you in the kitchen as they have helped me.
Enter the giveaway below and good luck!
