Low Carb Protein Bar

Sometimes we are too preoccupied that we forget to have a nutritious meal. If that happens, instant foods such as protein bars are here to the rescue. They make us full quickly, and it is very convenient during a busy day, long walks or on a hike.

In addition, low carb protein bars will be a healthy snack for your kids. They love sweets so much, why not treat them to natural homemade bars. The recipe is very simple and will not take too much of your time.

  • 30 g Almonds leave some almond flakes for garnishing
  • 30 g Peanuts
  • 20 g Hazelnuts
  • 20 g Sunflower Seeds
  • 10 g Pitted Dried Cherries
  • 15 Pitted Dates
  • 1/2 Lime juiced
  • 250 ml Water
  • 10 g Agar-Agar


  • Put cherries, dates, almonds, peanuts in a blender. Mix well. Don't bring to a state of paste, small pieces of nuts should remain.
  • Boil 250 ml of water and add agar-agar, boil for 2-3 minutes stirring constantly. Then cool slightly and add to the blender. Mix again.
  • Cover food container with baking paper. Distribute resulting mix evenly in a food container, lay on top a whole hazelnut, sunflower seeds, and little almond flakes.
  • Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.


If your mix turns out to be too liquid, you need to add more nuts or dates to dry it. This should be a thick paste with slices of nuts and cherries, which easily takes any shape and does not crumble.
You can use different combinations of nuts, everything that is at your fingertips.
