Paleo Food Staples

Switching my pantry and fridge out from processed foods to paleo-friendly foods was a daunting task. I searched online for a “grocery list” of staples but came up short. What I did was find recipes I wanted to try and gathered my own list. While it was useful, I would have greatly appreciated a list of items that would be frequently purchased so I could have it on hand. After 2-ish months of eating Paleo, I have compiled a pretty accurate list of what I buy and keep on hand on a regular basis. It may look like a long list, but most of it is fresh food that you will be buying fairly frequently. There aren’t a ton of shelf-stable staple items. And soon, you’ll get the hang of what your family consumes most and what you’ll need to stock on a regular basis.

I’ve also included a small list of non-food items that we go through on a pretty regular basis. Parchment paper is my best friend, seriously. As much as I roast veggies and bake bacon (way better than frying it), I hate washing the baking pans. So I always line them with parchment (or sometimes foil) and then I can just throw away the mess. Keep parchment stocked, you won’t regret it. The Ball Canning Jars are for storing leftovers or homemade condiments, sauces, and stuff. I prefer glass over plastic, though I still use my trusty tupperware as well.
