Keto Chocolate Mousse

What’s the sweetener in this chocolate mousse?

The question we’re often asked is how do you make something taste sweet without raising blood sugar or impacting ketosis? There are a handful of really great alternative sweeteners that are VERY low on the glycemic index. Learn more about the glycemic index.

In this particular recipe we’re using Allulose to achieve the sweetness in this chocolate mousse. We’ve written an article that’ll answer every question you have about Allulose.

Allulose is a ZERO on the glycemic index, will not raise blood sugar, is perfect for anyone on a Keto diet.

What ingredients will I need?

The longer you go, making foods without sugar, the more prepared you’ll be in the kitchen when it comes to “Keto Approved” ingredients. The idea with Keto-approved ingredients is simple: will NOT raise blood sugar. This Keto chocolate mousse recipe is perfectly diabetic friendly and Keto approved.

  • 1/2 cup Keto Chocolate Chips
  • 1 1/2 cups Heavy Cream, divided
  • 2 Tbsp Allulose
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • More Dark Chocolate, for garnish (optional)
No Egg Chocolate Mousse (Sugar Free too)

How to Make Keto Chocolate Mousse

These directions are also outlined in the recipe card below. This Keto chocolate mousse recipe is sure to be a new (go-to) dessert in your house!

Melt the Mixture

Add chocolate chips and 1/4 cup heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on HIGH in 30 second intervals, stirring well between each, until chocolate is melted and the mixture combines into a glossy, smooth ganache. This should take no more than 2 minutes, probably closer to 1 minute. Set aside.

Make the Fluffy Whipped Cream

In a separate bowl, add the remaining 1 1/4 cup heavy cream, allulose, and vanilla. With a hand mixer or in a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, beat the cream until it doubles in volume and has nearly stiff peaks. You should have a fluffy whipped cream. Reserve 1 cup of the whipped cream for topping.

Combine

Pour the chocolate ganache into the non-reserved whipped cream and gently fold it in with a silicone spatula until smooth and uniform in color. Be careful as you fold it in so you don’t deflate the cream or your mousse will be a little dense.
